Pets can be a source of Joy and Happiness. These 3 Tristan Valentino, Little Miss Lily Patches and Tatiana Valencia are my babies and bring me numerous moments of Love, Joy, and Happiness. I can’t help but put a smile on my face when little Tati does what I call her moon walkin dance, she is also my caretaker worrier dog and checks on me if I am sick. Lily is my guardian and sleeps by me at night and Tristan is Mr. Macho man, but not so macho he loves his tummy rubbed and lots of treats. They offer lots of love and joy, it’s hard to be unhappy when they greet you at the door with their little smiling faces. Caring about animals helps us to care more about ourselves. Pets may not be for everyone, but there are numerous things that can bring someone joy and purpose – find out what that is for you and be good to yourself and bring yourself some joy and happiness!

It sounds simple – but can be a challenge for many. I am personal living proof that reducing and/or eliminating sugar from your diet helps with loosing weight and fighting off virus’, fatigue and depression. I have proven time and time again to myself and others that when I am eating lots of sugar items and grains/rices (they turn into sugar in your system) that I can go into depression – feel exhausted and fatigued all day – go into depression (especially in the winter months). You can eat berries, granny smith apples, almond butter with bits of cacao as snacks while getting the majority of sugar out of your system. It takes a good 2-4 weeks of eliminating sugars and grains for your system to recoup from all the sugar abuse that it has done to your system. Fresh veggies/salads/unwiches are great alternatives and provide lots of vitamins and minerals that your body needs.

Finally! A pizza dough that Maximized Living doctors and patients can prepare, eat, and savour without feeling guilty or bloated, or both!
Enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 ¼ cups Almond Flour
¼ cup ground flax meal
¼ to ½ tsp. kosher or sea salt
¼ tsp. aluminum free baking soda
1 egg, beaten with a whisk
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp. seasoning of choice – Italian seasoning; roasted garlic powder (optional)
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients together until they form a ball.
Roll the “dough” into a ¼ inch pizza crust on a sheet pan with a silpat liner or piece of parchment paper.
(To make this easier, top the dough with another piece of parchment paper when you roll it out; then peel off the parchment paper when you have it the way you want it.)
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Top with your favourite “Maximized” pizza ingredients. Left-over “Maximized” ingredients are fine.
Return the pizza to the oven for another 10-15 minutes (this is a slow, lower heat pizza).
Since I changed my diet to a Gluten Free diet I have more energy and my thinking is clearer. I am also loosing weight faster! Ezekiel Cinnamin Raisin bread is one of my favorite alternatives – it isn’t gluten free, but it is made from ancient unprocessed grains that are better for your body.
Udi’s tortilla’s and breads are great alternatives.Check out the Gluten Free Cooking School – http://www.glutenfreecookingschool.com
